There are many ways we can help as a postpartum doula. The primary aim is to fit with your individual needs and recognizing that not all families need exactly the same services.

You may choose from an array of services which include:

• Guidance and education on newborn care
• Postpartum support for mom and dad
• Breastfeeding support
• Light housekeeping
• Running errands
• Meal preparation
• Individualized care and attention
• Support, compassion and understanding
• Help with sibling or pet interaction
• Provide mother with the right resources on child care

Some of the benefits of postpartum doula care include increased rates of successful breastfeeding, less maternal exhaustion, frustration, and apprehension during the early weeks, greater understanding of newborn emotional and physical needs and behavior, earlier bonding due to increased maternal confidence, and reduced rates of maternal postpartum depression.

Postpartum care is available anywhere from a few days to several months. The specific needs of each family will be discussed and decided upon on an individual basis.

Scheduling is done on a first-come, first-served basis. Advanced scheduling is recommended, however many clients have contacted us after delivery, when they finally find themselves needing help, so please contact us if this is the case.

How Our Services Work:

This first consultation will be free of charge, and in no way obligates you to commit to our services. This meeting serves as an opportunity for us to determine how we can best support your household after the birth of your baby.

My goal is to give you as much support as possible, and that process can frequently begin prior to your baby's arrival.

Upon signing the contract, the deposit is non-refundable unless I am unable to fulfill my end of the contract, in which case you would receive a full refund. Since babies rarely follow our time lines for arrival, it is important that you contact me as soon as is feasible after the baby is born. This will ensure my first day at your home occurs in a smooth and timely manner.

Postpartum doula services are billed on an hourly basis with a minimum of 4 hours per day. Overnight service is available at a slightly higher rate with an 8 hour minimum. Weekend service is sometimes offered depending on availability. Please call for specific rate information.

Insurance coverage:

Some insurance plans cover a portion or all of the fees related to postpartum care, newborn care and lactation consultation. Statements can be provided for insurance purposes.

My services may qualify to be used as pre-tax dollars through many employers’ benefits policies. Please inquire within the human resources department of your company to see if this applies to you.
